Temporary Banner

Project Overview

In collaboration with the Arnold Palmer brand, Parker set out to celebrate the enduring power of a signature, not just the stroke of a pen, but what it stands for. My role focused on crafting the narrative and surface design for the Parker Duofold and Ingenuity pens in this Signature Limited Edition, blending legacy, precision, and understated luxury.

Design Objectives

Two platforms, one story.
This project spanned both the Parker Duofold and Ingenuity models. While their architectures remained untouched, the challenge was to give each its own character, while remaining unified by the narrative.

Forms were locked.
No changes could be made to the architecture of the Duofold or Ingenuity platforms. This meant that the story had to be told entirely through surface, finish, and detail

Design priorities included:

  • Champion Legibility as Legacy
Inspired by Palmer’s own philosophy, “What’s the point of signing something if it can’t be read?” the pen needed to embody clarity, humility, and excellence in every detail.

  • Elevate Within Constraint
With no modifications allowed to the base form, the opportunity lay in pushing the boundaries of material, pattern, and graphic language to create distinction within a heritage silhouette.

  • Craft a Language of Luxury
The visual story had to feel premium, not promotional. The pen was never meant to appeal to golfers alone, but to those who appreciate legacy, craftsmanship, and understated sophistication.

  • Integrate Iconography with Intent
The Arnold Palmer signature and umbrella mark were non-negotiable elements, but their integration needed to feel embedded, not embellished. Each instance had to enhance the design, not distract from it.

  • Tell a Story Through Surface
From lasered metals to deep lacquer tones, the design needed to rely entirely on CMF and attention to details to express meaning. Every texture and detail became a tool for narrative.
