REUPHOLSTRY

iphone-(null)-0.jpg

I recently bought a Coalesse Last Minute stool for $10. It was had nasty blue fabric on it so I decided to reupholster it. I didn't know how to sew.

First things first, learning to work my fiance's sewing machine and then practicing the seam I wanted to make.

After an hour of practicing I felt confident I could consistently achieve the seam detail I was looking for.  I was ready to start taking the old fabric off.

The fabric was being held into the interior crease by string that was looped through a plastic cord and then pulled through holes and stapled to the bottom.

I pulled the different panels of fabric apart so I could use them as the patterns for the new panels.

As you can see I pulled the string a bit too hard and created visible dimples where it is attached to the fabric.  This was a great learning experience but intend to try it again to make it better.
